Meet Kaitlyn Hannan

Kaitlyn Hannan is a motivated student filmmaker with expertise in producing, directing, and writing. She's a driven and efficient worker known for being a positive force and problem solver in the workplace and on sets. She loves talking about movies and shows, and is always eager to learn more about the industry. She has been involved in the production of over 50 short films. When she's not on set or watching TV, you can find her browsing Letterboxd or scrolling through "film Twitter."
Since arriving on Elon University's campus, Kaitlyn has immersed herself into the film world. She was accepted into the Communications Living and Learning Community, where she met many students with similar passions, many of whom are still her closest friends. She immediately joined Elon Tonight, a sketch comedy show under Elon Student Television, and Cinelon, Elon's film production company.
During her first semester with Elon Tonight, she participated in weekly writers' rooms and worked on as many sets as possible, starting out as a Production Assistant and working her way up to Director of Photography and Producer. One of her scripts, "Dreamers" was produced and released on the organization's YouTube channel. She began her second semester as one of two Show Producers, the highest leadership position within Elon Tonight. She made a promise that she would improve the visual and written quality of the organization's films, and she strives to continue improvement with each semester that passes. Currently, she is most proud of the Elon Tonight production, "Unwise Guys," a comical homage to gangster films.
Kaitlyn's first semester with Cinelon was similarly ambitious. She was the first freshman to ever be selected to produce a Cinelon short film within their first semester. It was an exciting challenge. You can watch the film, "The Clean Freak", here. She has continued to produce a film for Cinelon with each semester. In the Spring of 2022, she co-produced "Heirloom," and in the Fall of 2022, she produced "Confessions of a Productive Mind." In the same semester, she also joined Cinelon's executive board as the Event Coordinator. In December of 2022, she was elected as the President of Cinelon Productions, a position she still holds today.
In her first semester as President of Cinelon Productions, Kaitlyn oversaw five films, serving as Executive Producer, along with her Vice President, Will Calkins. One of these films was "Delivery," which Kaitlyn also directed, wrote, and edited. It follows an overworked pizza delivery driver that comes across an unattended bag of money. His decision to steal it threatens to ruin his night, and possibly his life. "Delivery" has been selected at 3 film festivals so far., including the Raleigh Film and Art Festival.
Kaitlyn is now working on her next film, a comedy/western.
